L.A.

May 28, 2013

Can't believe that it's almost June! What's wrong with the weather these days? Good thing about it, this is also some kind of perfect weather for doing some picture editing, I am still working on the ones of the last wedding, more about it soon.

Low temperatures outside, sunshine in your mind -Time to reminisce about springlike times in February and March and watch some sunshiny pictures of the US again. This time: Los Angeles

"The more you explore, the more you enjoy" has been the lead to L.A. in our guidebook. Well, that's true, if you leave all your preconceptions about the city in your suitcase you will find a place like no other. One of the world's best art museum the LACMA, where we had the honor to get a behind-the-scenes tour by Catherine (Martin's sister-in-law), is situated right at the city center. Cathi works as an expat in the restoration department - little did we know about her daily job so far, now I would love to spend every day there :D Her colleague has just been working on some portrait pictures of Edward Weston! Totally thrilled to have them unframed right below my nose.
The museum runs a fabulous Stanley Kubrick exhibition right now - if you are there this is a must-see.

Besides the classics as Venice Beach or Hollywood also visit less known neighborhoods like Silverlake or Burbank.
